RCS Agent

What is a verified RCS Sender?

An RCS Agent (RCS Sender) enables businesses to send messages with a verified brand identity. Recipients see your company logo, business name and a verification badge.

  • Brand logo displayed directly in the messaging app
  • Verification badge for greater trust
  • Company name instead of anonymous number
  • Protection from spam/smishing through verification
Agent types

Two types of RCS Agents

When applying for your RCS sender profile, you choose between two agent types. The type determines your billing model and how conversations work.

Non-conversational

One-way notifications like OTP codes or promotional alerts. Each message is billed individually by type. Two-way interaction is possible, but each message is charged separately.

Billing: per message
24h session

Conversational

Two-way or ongoing conversations, e.g. customer support or chatbot engagements. A flat session rate covers all messages in a 24-hour window after the user replies.

How conversational billing works: Outside the United States, businesses can use conversational RCS Agents to enable real-time, two-way interactions.

  • The first message sent is billed as either Basic or Rich, depending on its content.
  • If the recipient responds, a 24-hour conversation session begins, during which all messages are covered under a flat conversational rate.
  • If a customer initiates a conversation with a brand and the brand replies within 24 hours, a conversation session begins at the conversational rate.

If a user doesn’t respond, each message is charged separately based on the message type sent (Basic or Rich). If they do respond, the pricing shifts to the session-based conversational model.
